Nvidia's NV40 tapes out

We can finally confirm that Nvidia's NV40 taped out in the last days of December of 2003 and that Nvidia is working hard to finish everything up before boards using the technology go on sale.

Nvidia's partners are still without chips and it seems that they will get their sample NV40s to do necessary PCB adjustments no earlier than late February 2004.

  1. Time for current crop of cards to start getting cheaper.:DMaybe the 9700 Pro might actually go under the $200 mark, you never know.;)
  2. Seems like they have a new card out every two months 8)3 came out, and it seemed as if 4 did almost right after. Then the FX/5 did, however there was a little break there. Now were ready for the next...

  4. Sweet! lets hope the higher end cards get cheaper. I know of a place where I can get a 9800 Pro for $380 CAN. Pretty cheap. But I will still wait as a new video card isn't really needed right now.:grinthumb
