Liteon SOHW-832S 8x8 Dual Layer DVD+/-RW Drive Review

Now, here is something I do want for my birthday. Its a dual layer 8x8 DVD rewriter from Liteon. Liteon emerged, seemingly from out of nowhere, as a serious player in PC optical drives several years ago, having been in the past regarded as a little cheap and crappy. They have released many good quality CD rewriters and DVD rewriters (I own one) and now they are embracing Dual layer with this latest drive.

The Liteon 832s supports 8X DVD+R, 4X DVD+RW, 8X DVD-R, 4X DVD-RW, 40X CD-R, 24X CD-RW and, most interestingly, 2.4X DVD+R9 Dual Layer. As always, "SMART-BURN" technology is included, which avoids Buffer UnderRun Error, automatically adjusting writing strategy & running OPC to provide the best burning quality.
