Remember: New Windows updates are available!

All you have to do right now is fire up Windows update to see that there are 8 new updates for the Windows OS. As noted previously on this news page, these are critical and should be downloaded and installed unless you have a good reason not to. It is prudent, if possible, to make a backup of your OS partition before making these updates, hopefully with some kind of software like Norton Ghost. Some readers have in the past reported problems with their machines after installing such updates, so it is a good idea. Do keep in mind that when security flaws for Windows are reported widely they are often used for exploits soon after, so keeping your machine well patched will avoid you becoming someone else's bot, or something equally distressing.
