Rockstar being sued by enraged 85-year-old Grandmother

Morally angered Grandmother or cash scrounging pensioner? 85-year-old Florence Cohen has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan after she found out that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas contained hidden sex scenes. She believes that Rockstar, the company behind the game, is guilty of "false advertising, consumer deception and unfair business practices."

You might recall that San Andreas has been in trouble a lot lately, what with Senator Hillary Clinton getting involved over the game's saucy extras and whatnot, after the hacks that revealed the hidden porn were leaked. The game itself was finally given an adults-only rating, which the game's producer, Rockstar Games, is seeking to remedy by working on a new version of the game that would satisfy the original "M" for mature rating.

Florence Cohen is now seeking "unspecified damages on behalf of herself and all consumers nationwide," meaning she would seek class-action status for the suit. Will this one get laughed out of the courts? Rest assured when I find out, it will be reported back here.

I really hope this case gets laughed out of court. It just proves that some people have no lives. She probably bought the game for a well under 17 year old grandson and is trying to act like she cares about her family by doing this.

Her grandson is 14 acording to the article. He shouldn't be playing the game in the first place. I hope the case gets laughed at too. This is just getting ridiculous. Search for "HotCoffee video" without the quotes on google and you'll find it easily. You can see some T&A and 2 characters having sex. Just a little more then what you can see in any movie rated 13+.

As far as I've heard you will need a 3rd party hack to unlock the sex part on the PC version. That is of course not possible on the PS2, but I have also read that for that version there is a workaround, probably very tricky to achieve as well.

This is getting ridiculous now I'm sick of hearing about people moaning about GTA. If you don't like what's in it don't buy it. It's clearly got an age rating on that says it's not for children, so why did that grandmother buy it in the first place? People should just decide if their kids are mature enough then decide whether they can have it or not. And to people who say yeah they get hold of it anyway, take it away then if you don't want them to have it. As far as these hidden sex scenes go, Rockstar obviously decided to take them out of the game, they are only available by people hacking the game to retrieve them. If you don't want to see them simply don't use the hacks to get them.. Don't whine and complain about it when it's not even a default feature of the game anyway. Why can't people just get a grip and stop complaining at computer GAMES. They are just games after all.

Haven't all the GTA games been attacked for being violent, inappropriate, etc?Man, these days, its like whenever a big (or even not so big) company gets in trouble, people start seeing it as a kind of a lottery. Try a lawsuit, spin the wheel, take a chance... some daft judge / jury might actually find in your favour.[Edited by Phantasm66 on 2005-07-28 17:24:01]

She's just pissed because the GTA porn didn't turn her on and she can't get her money back. She shouldn't even be thinking about that stuff at her age. Shame, Shame, Grandma. LMAO
