AMD reduces prices on 1-way Opterons

More beefy CPU news, AMD is reducing prices on both their single and dual core Opteron processors for 1-Way (one processor) systems. These are meant for high end workstations and entry level servers, and price has a bigger impact here than heavy end servers. From 10 to 33% based on model, these are pretty big cuts all around. The dual-core 2.4GHz Opteron 180 will be $799 in quantity, quite a bit cheaper than single core, dual-cpu solutions for Opterons. A full price list is available on AMD's site. Opterons and the FX aren't for the feint of heart, currently, but are continuing to go down as AMD looks for ways to keep market share.
