Internet Explorer users take heed. A new trojan released into the wild is specifically targeting the hole that was discovered in IE this past week. Originally thought only to be a bug a few months ago, the hole turned out to be much more dangerous, and now a trojan has been crafted for it. It exploits the hole to download itself into a vulnerable computer, compromising the system Since an update for IE it not yet available, systems running IE on Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP are vulnerable to be taken over by this Trojan. Microsoft has provided a tool for removal the trojan “TrojanDownloader:Win32/Delf.DH” on their website, and it is a part of their online security scanner. If you have any suspicions and use IE, it is worth it to visit Live Safety Center at Microsoft. Microsoft has offered some workarounds in lieu of a patch, which are also a good idea to implement.
