Phillips offers TV via cell phone to the U.S.

Everyone knows the name Phillips when it comes to home entertainment. Now Phillips is expanding their horizons by offering their TV via cell phone to the U.S. as well, after having it in other countries for some time now. Partnering with Crown Castle Media, Phillips will be using a 5GHz range to broadcast television starting next year, with a demonstration of the technology in Las Vegas this January. Though I can't imagine staring at my cell phone for half an hour or more, the service was a success in areas like Japan and Korea, and people are warming up to the idea of music videos on mobile devices, so other video streams make sense as well. The service isn't perfect, and Phillips is not sure if their business model for it will work everywhere, but they are willing to "experiment".
