The Trendnet Clearsky VoIP phone, a Bluetooth handset designed for Skype, is set for release in the UK next month. The handset works with a Bluetooth dongle to access all the normal Skype functions. The range is up to 100m, and the phone can also be used to make calls over IM software such as MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger.

"You can walk round a decent sized open plan office making a phone call," said Pye, who has used the device. "I walked to the local park using it." The dongle also supports the enhanced data rate (EDR) of Bluetooth 2.0.
