Google Maps goes to Mars

By Derek Sooman

Google Maps has been enhanced in a way that’s out of this world – the service now gives Googlers their first close up of Mars.

The locations of pretty much every landing, successful or otherwise, are depicted along with many of the most important geographical features such as Valles Marineris.
Google claims that they are working on making the images available through Google Earth, which would also allow the viewer to change the tilt perspective, and so forth.

  1. Yay! Maps from Mars, I don't think that there are lots of streets to show there...
  2. No but they're thinking ahead. They'll have the rights when People start going there in around a decade.
