Mozilla releases Firefox 1.5.0.4
Anyone using the ever more infamous Firefox browser will be happy to hear that as of yesterday, Mozilla has officially released version 1.5.0.4, a minor update that mostly encompassed stability and security. While most users probably had Firefox automatically update itself, in the event you didn't you can always download the update. As it has more than a handful of security fixes including some that could cause browser crashing, it's definitely worth getting. As with any software that is exposed to the Internet, it's important to keep it updated, and it is good to know that the Mozilla team is working to take care of issues readily.

I wonder if MS will add an updating feature to keep IE7 secure...? |

Even IE6 already has an update feature (since SP2) because it is treated as a core part of the OS in Windows XP. |

I didn't get the message, when you're running as a normal user under Linux, you can't update software. (Virus can't kill it too.) I can just run it as root and the update feature is going to be enabled. The only thing is that under the Fedora installation I'm currently using, the updates are never available directly by Firefox, but I have to wait for Fedora to put it. (Yes, the kernel, browsers, games, media players, codecs, graphical interfaces, office suites, etc. are all updated with the same program since they come with the distribution. -> Nice thing about Linux!) |

IE 7 requires Windows XP SP2 or later; therefore it's covered by Automatic Updates (As Julio said). Microsoft releases patches the first Tuesday of each month unless it's something which requires an out-of-cycle release. Pity they're not being more retroactive & patching the old holes in IE6, as per the listing on Secunia. |

Then you will be able to update via firefox not via yum. |
