Dell to offer AMD based notebooks

As Dell begins to embrace AMD products more and more, they are set to release an AMD platform notebook sometime soon. A Dell rep from Taiwan confirmed the plans to build notebooks around AMD systems, and that it will become prevalent in most of Dell's different lineups. They still seem to be a bit touchy about the whole thing:

"This is a sensitive topic, though we won’t deny the fact that we are working with Dell on desktop and notebook PCs," K. J. Chou, general manager of the chipmaker’s operation told the news reporters.
Dell has gone back on years of resistance when they finally decided to start using Opteron chips for some of their servers. Much to AMD's benefit, Dell is claiming that this isn't a big deal, just business. Just business indeed, though I'm sure we can all remember when Dell screamed "no AMD".
