Nintendo to release ethernet adapter for Wii

By Justin Mann

On October 4, 2006, 11:31 AM

Some people have been frustrated over the lack of an ethernet adapter on Nintendo's up and coming Wii console. Put those frustrations to rest, because while it won't come as a stock option, ethernet will be available as a pluggable module for the Wii. Using it, you'll be able to plug the Wii into any standard DHCP-supporting router and get online.

Of course, assuming you own a wireless access point, the Wii still does come stock with a wireless interface, so no additional hardware is required for that. No word yet on how much it'll cost for the ethernet adapter.
