Interview with muslix64, Blu-ray / HD DVD DRM defeater
There is an extremely interesting interview with the man who conquered the DRM that the backers of Blu-ray and HD DVD were touting as nearly impenetrable. It covers how the media portrays him, his motivation for working against the protection, and his goals for bringing his methods to the mainstream. There's a lot more, and definitely worth the read, whether you are for or against the anti-DRM crowd. Read it over at Slyck.com.

is anyone suprised? you know it's gonna get cracked someday. i think DRM should just stop trying. or at least stop trying so hard. cause it would look bad for them if they didn't at least try. |

ICk. As much as I am for "fair usage", yes you should be able to use what you pay for; I'm not so sure about cracking software and letting it go on the net. Obviously it has perfectly legitimate uses, and if he hadn't done it, others would have. However, this war between the consumer and the corporation is getting ridiculous. When people take software like this and use it to pirate mediums, they are only, in the end, making life harder on all of us, themselves included. |
