EMI tinkers with DRM-free music
Could more big players be considering releasing DRM-free music? Almost as if they are following in the wake of Steve Job's recent speech, giant EMI is talking with several retailers about sellling music with DRM, in online stores. It seems they've already tested the waters somewhat, with a few select singles being sold without DRM at the same price as any others. Apparently it was good enough for them to consider doing it more.
If only this meant that the death of DRM was at hand. Unfortunately, I'm willing to bet that some big companies will be resistant beyond all measure, such as Sony BMG and the RIAA, no matter how bad for business it is.

retailers about sellling music with DRM » should be read as: « giant EMI is talking with several retailers about selling music without DRM » I personally think EMI is right on this, and will prove it can work.
