Hans Reiser to stand trial for murder

By Justin Mann

Hans Reiser, creator and developer for the ever-popular ReiserFS filesystem, now must stand trial for the alleged murder of his missing wife. She disappeared late last year, and the Judge overseeing the case has decided there is enough evidence for the case to go to trial. How will this impact the future of ReiserFS? Namesys, the company behind it, has already stated numerous times that it is “business as usual” for them, though some have doubts:

The ruling casts into further doubt the future of Reiser's company, Namesys, and the ReiserFS Linux file system Reiser invented. Reiser is in talks to sell the company, according to his father, Raymond Reiser.
If the company should be sold, it will be interesting to see who's hands it ends up in.

  1. I don't think that the company will get sold at all, but I do think that that guy will go to jail, probably coz he did kill his wife.
