Intel's Santa Rosa platform launches
Intel and Intel fans everywhere rejoiced today, as Intel made Santa Rosa live today. The fourth iteration of the Centrino chipset is destined for mobile platforms, bringing with it a horde of new functionality to give it an edge. Most interestingly, it is Intel's first live 802.11n-supporting platform. It'll still be sticking with the same processors available now, but incorporates many new features such as an improved FSB. To benefit from this, Intel will be providing newer processors as well, shortly, which are capable of using the faster bus.
The Santa Rosa platform will come under two labels, Centrino Duo and Centrino Pro. Much of Santa Rosa has already been covered, though now we'll get to see how it is received in the real world.
