The infamous Manhunt 2, which has been an issue of controversy for some time now, will go on sale today at retail outlets all over. The game, which has faced numerous setbacks such as certain countries banning it and scandals galore, has earned a considerable amount of hype due to this controversy. Will it live up to the hype?

Probably not, and while Jack Thompson may disagree I imagine the release of Manhunt 2 won't cause larger waves than any other big-name release this year, at least in the U.S. In the U.K., the story is different. Even despite Rockstar being willing to modify their game to better appease regulatory agencies, the modifications weren't enough to satisfy and they may face more delays in getting the title released.

Perhaps a successful launch in the U.S. will ease concerns, though somehow I imagine that those who oppose this title will continue to fight tooth-and-nail until it has been all but forgotten in the wake of, say, Manhunt 3.
