Alienware shows off 2,880 x 900 curved monitor
Hardcore gamers will be in for a treat later this year when Alienware releases its humungous wraparound DLP rear-projection monitor, capable of 2880x900 screen resolutions and a .02ms response time, which is about 100 times faster than the fastest current LCD screen.
The curved display creates a sweet peripheral vision effect which works particularly great for first person shooters. This beast is actually four monitors put together with some hint of the dividers between the panels, though Alienware insist that it will be almost invisible on final release, sometime in the second half of 2008. The price is yet to be determined. Check Engadget or Gizmodo for some pics.
