Sony has posted their latest results in the gaming world, including some figures on how well the PS3 is doing. After a long stretch of losing money on every sale and getting smoked by Microsoft and Nintendo, Sony's game division has turned things around and is doing alright. Over the course of a three month period, the PS3 managed to sell 1.56 million consoles, beating the PS2 out by a very narrow margin.

The PS3 pales in comparison to the PSP, though, which is still outselling the PS3 more than two to one. And their profit margin is not coming from the PS3, but other hardware. The improved situation is unlikely to change Sony's stance of avoiding price cuts wherever and whenever possible. Especially since the PS3 has lost them over $3 billion.
