Looking to put the latest version of Ubuntu on your Eee PC? Well, now you can do so without the hassle of manually tweaking the operating system to make sure it runs as smoothly as possible on your hardware. Eeebuntu, as the name suggests, is a version of the popular Linux distro tailored to support Wi-Fi, graphics, trackpad, webcam, and sound drivers for most Eee PC configurations right out of the box.

It is based on the most recent Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) release and comes in three different flavors, including a standard Ubuntu desktop version, a stripped down base version with all necessary system files but no applications preloaded, and a NBR version based on Ubuntu Netbook Remix which offers a consumer-friendly interface optimized specifically for devices with small screens.

The official servers are currently under heavy load and thus download links have been temporarily removed, but you can also download the NBR, base or standard editions via BitTorrent.
