reSTART, first US Internet addiction clinic opens
According to the clinic's mission statement, it is "specifically oriented toward launching tech dependent youth and adults back into the real world." The program is designed to help people break their Internet and/or computer-based cycle of dependency. Participants will engage activities that are often avoided because of excessive computer, video game, and Internet use.
For only $14,500 (or the cost of an 80.6-year WoW subscription as noted by ZDNet) you can hop on the path to recovery, and kick your Web abuse for good. Who's in line?

hi....my name is 192.168.255.255
I have the internet available in every room of my house. Do I qualify? From media centers, setting up a home server, and making sure my portable devices have wifi. In any case I'd spend that money on investments, well that's not really spending is it. ....of dear, well , i think we may just see you in an upcoming episode of "intervention" |

Game addiction has been getting a lot more press as of late. Just last night, i watched a DVD exploring the people who play MMO's and several segments dealt with one man's obsession with Everquest. The name of the documentary was "Second Skin". Fascinating piece that explore many different aspects of online culture. |
