In addition to Gateway and announcement earlier today, Sony has introduced a new all-in-one touchscreen PC in preparation for Windows 7's launch. The Sony VAIO L features a 24" 1080p multi-touch display, an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, "loads of RAM," a dedicated Nvidia GeForce series graphics chip, and an optional Blu-ray drive.

Other VAIO L specs include an optional HDMI input (to connect an HD cable box or PlayStation 3 for instance), built-in DVR capabilities, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, support for VESA wall mounts, and ships with Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional 64-bit. Pricing starts around $1,300 and the VAIO L all-in-one is available for pre-order on Sony's website.

In somewhat related news, Sony offered new details about its 11" carbon fiber Sony VAIO X. The company first showed its new ultraportable at the IFA 2009 electronics event in Berlin, but few specs were revealed. Sony says its VAIO X is the world's lightest laptop, and will house an Intel Atom Z530, and will run for up to 14 hours per charge.

It features a 16:9 LED-backlit display, an optional integrated Verizon-backed 3G dongle, 802.11n and Bluetooth connectivity, some form of an SSD, and Windows 7. It too is up for pre-orders and starts at a reasonable $1,300 -- which was precisely my guess last month, if I may brag.
