HP rolled out a pair of budget LCD displays and desktops yesterday. Aimed at businesses, the 17" LE1711 and the 19" LE1911 are being pitched as eco-friendly displays that use 50% less mercury and are free of arsenic, BFRs and PVC. They also passed the latest Energy Star requirements. Both displays feature a resolution of 1280x1024, a 5ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 250cd/m2 brightness, and a VGA input. The 17" runs $125, and the larger iteration is priced at $164 -- both are available now.

One of the newly introduced desktops (the Pro 3000) is Intel-based, while the other (Pro 3005) is built around AMD parts. The systems are similarly equipped, and offer a wide spectrum of hardware. The Pro 3000 kicks off with a Pentium dual-core processor and scales up to a Core 2 Quad, and the Pro 3005 starts with an Athlon II X2 on up to a Phenom II X4. Both will be available mid-December with up to 8GB of RAM, 160GB to 500GB HDDs, and DVD or Blu-ray burners. Prices will open at $469 and $449.
