Google has announced a premium version of their popular web analytics tool for enterprise environments that includes a wealth of new features. Additionally, free users are being upgraded to real-time data reports, as first detailed on the Google Analytics Blog.

Google Analytics Premium will aim to provide specific needs to larger customers that the free version wasn't fully able to deliver. Google developed the premium service around three key aspects: more data, advanced tools and dedicated support. Below is a summary of what these aspects cover.

Extra processing power - increased data collection, more custom variables and downloadable, unsampled reports

Advanced analysis - attribution modeling tools that allow you to test different models for assigning credit to conversions

Service and support - experts to guide customized installation, and dedicated account management on call - all backed by 24/7 support

Guarantees - service level agreements for data collection, processing and reporting

Google Analytics Premium has been in a pilot phase with companies like Gucci, Travelocity, TransUnion and eHarmony to make sure the service meets the needs of large clients. The service is now available to anyone that needs it in the United States, Canada and the UK for a fixed annual fee. No pricing is mentioned as Google recommends users contact them directly for a quote, but Forrester analyst Joseph Stanhope claims the service will cost $150,000.

On the free side of the tracks, Google Analytics Real-Time will show all users exactly what is happening on their site as it happens. This can be extremely useful to measure the impact of social media to track exactly where your traffic is coming from.

Real-Time is rolling out now to select users, with access for all in the coming weeks. If you can't wait that long, you can sign up for early access here.
