Yesterday Thomas & Per already reported on the availability of patches to remove security holes that may compromise your system. Scroll down a bit for that post, or click here.

A virus or worm that exploits newly revealed vulnerabilities in the current versions of Windows could emerge fairly soon, security experts say, in part because the vulnerabilities are very similar to the flaws exploited by the MSBlast worm. “This is essentially the same type of vulnerability,” said Alfred Huger, senior director of engineering at Symantec Security Response. “We’re likely to see them (new viruses) in the near future.”

  1. This is news? Heh, we're talking about Microsoft here! Of course a new virus will come out soon. That's the problem with 98% market saturation. Who'd write a virus that would have to make 100 hits to get 1 computer it could infect?
