The inexpensive Sony KDL-BX420 series evinced good performance for an entry-level non-LED-TV, with deep-enough black levels and accurate color in mid-bright areas. It also, surprisingly for a 60Hz TV, handled 1080p/24 cadence properly, and its matte sc...
Solid picture performance, Light, easy to set up, Customizable picture presets, Decent sound
The BX420 industrial design is clean and its build quality is better than a lot of its affordable competition, The BX420 is easy to set up and even easier to live with, making it an ideal HDTV for a bedroom or den or for the consumer not wanting to become
Excellent picture quality, Deep black levels, Good value.
The BX420 only has two HDMI inputs when most of its competitors have three or four. Its color was too blue in dark areas and too red in bright areas and its screen showed brighter corners.
No Internet or network features, Thicker bezel than some, Less than perfect blacks
The BX420's lack of inputs, especially HDMI inputs is alarming and not enough in my opinion for today's modern consumer, The BX420 cannot connect to the Internet nor playback 3D content, so those of you in the market for those features should look

Overall, the Sony KDL-46BX420 ($899 MSRP) isn’t a bad television set. Not only does it have great picture performance, but it isn’t overly-complicated by features that would probably never get used, or only serve as a frustration. The lack of input...
