Benchmarks: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky/Call of Pripyat

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a highly demanding game based on the X-ray graphics engine version 1.5. Setting the in-game quality settings to their maximum values without any kind of AA/AF, enabled the GeForce GTX 295 to average just 56fps at 2560x1600, while the Radeon HD 5970 was considerably faster averaging 78fps. This equates to a 39% margin over Nvidia's card and 47% over the Radeon HD 5870.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat uses version 1.6 of the X-ray Engine to provide full DirectX 11 support. Each graphics card was tested using the highest possible level of DirectX. This meant that the Radeon HD 5000 series cards were tested using DX11, and while the GeForce GTX 295 managed just 37fps at 2560x1600, the Radeon HD 5970 cranked out 68fps, making it a staggering 84% faster!
