Gateway SX 2311-03 Small Form Factor PC Review

Bundled Software and Performance

The same custom desktop theme from the gaming FX desktop makes an appearance on the SX system. As for preloaded software, Gateway unfortunately bogs down the system with too much unnecessary baggage. The few bundled titles that I would consider useful include CyberLink PowerDVD 9, Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 trial and Nero 9 Essentials.

Other less desirable software includes eBay Worldwide, Gateway Games, Google Toolbar, Norton Internet Security, Norton Online Backup and a Netflix shortcut. Your opinion on these may vary, of course. Gateway's software tools include Photo Frame, Recovery Management, Registration, ScreenSaver, Updater, Welcome Center and Identity Card.

Below we have included some reference benchmark results from the several tests that were run on the SX2311-03 to give you an idea of how its processor, graphics system, hard drive and memory system perform under load.
