I really need to edit a .sav (SPSS) file to display as today's date. The code in the file is ineligible and I desperately need to change the date within the coding of the file. Is there a program I can open this file in to change the date? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you want the file properties to show as todays date: Created time/Modified time...
Or do you want it to show once loaded?

I actually have to submit it to a website that reads the file, not the "exterior." I've been able to have Windows see the start date and such as today's date, but am unable to edit the data within the file.

So no, not the file properties, I want to change the actual code inside the file

I see you have used PropertiesPlus: http://downloads.pcworld.com/pub/new/utilities/file_management/pplus165.exe
To change the exterior
I wonder if Restorator can do this: http://www.bome.com/Restorator/

You can change just about anything in packed files
Actually I had another, damn what was it?! I remember seeing the entire file in hex. That was it hex editor!, Now which one did I use?!

The Restorator doesn't support .sav files. How do I use a hex editor to change the date?

I should have mentioned that, but you're soo quick, I just posted the link
I'd say the no.1 best is WinHex (even though they say that it's not)
Anyway download and run, open your file bla bla bla (you sound pretty smart!)
Also it's licenced program stuff, ie you can't edit unless you pay!
But... You can at least tell if it would work.
Hey I like that game cheat one :)
But I've got the rest already

Hm, I can't seem to get the code to transfer into something I might be able to interpret. Thank you very much for your help by the way. This is about as close as I have gotten to accomplishing this task, so thanks again :D

Too many view options to post in Winhex settings
When I started using it (years and years ago) I just clicked on show this, do that; until finally it showed all the data, which I could edit. (ie date, name, you name it)
Anyway that's all I know on this
Although there was another program...
nah just messing with yu, that's all :)
