DiceMan 06-14-2007, 02:32 AM Im having the same Problem, I am missing my Audio Controller, and i have downloaded cpu-z, and i must say it helped, but i still cannot find my mother board drivers. what it says : Model : i845ITE8712 Chip Set : Intel i845 South bridge : 82801BA (ICH 2) Sensor: ITE IT8712 And im Running windows Xp Home Some one please help. libertine 07-03-2007, 09:43 PM okay so i guess i must have deleted my drivers by accident... as yes...i am without sound. i have tried most of the things that have been suggested on these boards and i don't know where to go next. my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA 8SIML. its all to do with my multimedia audio controller i checked out the maker of my motherboard and downloaded the drivers they suggested (which were both realtek and SiS)...nothing. i tried to do a system restore to before when i deleted the driver...but it would seem the the option has been turned off for some time and there are no past restore points for me to use. the device manager has the little yellow exclamation...a hardware conflict? when i used the troubleshooter to try and resolve the conflict it made the problem worse...now i have a conflict with an SM bus controller. i don't know what a BIOS is or if it would help matters to try and download a new one? im only an a-level student and i think this is a bit out of my depth. here is everything AIDA gave me... AlbertLionheart 08-09-2007, 04:48 AM For on board audio (where you have no install CD for the motherboard) you need to inspect the board first. Find the model number, and also the makers name if shown (some makers don't always do this). The model number is usually near the CPU. For example, P4P800-MX. Google this number and you should find the makers name showing - in this case it is an ASUS board. Do not follow links to any site that is not the makers own site - go only to the makers site. Find links on that site for downloads or support or drivers or something like that - they are all different. Search or follow wizards to find your board and then select the audio driver(s) download - I always recommend you save the driver file rather than install from the remote site. Follow instructions and this should work. Note that some editions of the same board may have different audio chipsets - if in doubt download them all and try them one at a time... If all else fails it is always possible that there is a fault or a conflict - I have sometimes had to fit a sound card to get round this. Vile 08-21-2007, 07:56 AM when I start up my computer it says I dont have an audio multimedia controller installed. and I have tried to update the device but it comes up asking for a disc to be used to install it. could anyone link me to a place where I could download it from. my pc specs are; GBT___ System Model: AWRDACPI BIOS Version: Award Software International, Inc. Rage_3K_Moiz 08-21-2007, 08:18 AM Use Everest Home Edition or SIW to find your motherboard's brand name and model number first. You can't get any help without that info. Vile 08-21-2007, 08:28 AM I downloaded siw. thanks. is this what you need to know? Property Value Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Tmagic650 08-21-2007, 10:21 AM Your motherboard's on-board sound chip is bad. You might need to install a PCI based sound card jllorens 09-29-2007, 04:40 PM I'm trying to digitalize old analog files from VCR, and audio tapes to my PC. to do that, I bough a PCI TV Card that has audio, video, S-Video, TV antenna inputs. The card came with a driver... and I installed the whole thing, and it looks like the installation went OK. Still, when I connected my VCR analog lines to the card (S-Video + Audio in) - using either Video maker or Pinnacle 10 software - I was only able to get the video part, but no audio at all. Could someone tell me why? I would really appreciate it Thanks Jeanhttp Tmagic650 09-29-2007, 04:47 PM Have you tried using the right and left audio channels. It too has the audio controller problem and i can't find a driver for it. AlbertLionheart 10-21-2007, 06:12 AM i found out some more stuff my processors name is AMD Athlon XP specification: AMD Athlon XP 1800+ sorry - could not find any working references to your board on my local compaq site in UK - you should look at your local compaq site as it may be something only sold where you are. Your laptop model did not show on my local list of products - where are you and please confirm the model - satellite - or whatever. It may be that there is no audio driver available for you OS upgrade. AudioVayne 10-21-2007, 07:02 AM I am in New Zealand (The laptop i assume to have been from Europe because Shift 3 was the pound symbol.) And even if i can find an old driver? I installed the realtek thing but the speakers screech before each sound or when opening a media player. Toshiba SA60-106 Model number: PSA60E-Few more digits to follow... AlbertLionheart 10-21-2007, 08:48 AM Hi and sorry about the rugby - for both our teams. Drivers are device and usually OS specific with rare exceptions. For example some odd W2k drivers will work with XP but very few. If you cannot find an XP driver you could try W2k. A screech usually means a driver error. I found your system spec on a French site and see that you have a Realtec ALC 250 audio system. Go to http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=6&PFid=6&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#RTL8100B(L)/RTL8100C(L)/RTL8101L/RTL8139C(L)/RTL8139C(L)+/RTL8139D(L)/RTL8100(L)/RTL8130/RTL8139B(L) and dowload the top driver from this ftp address ftp://61.56.69.18/cn/nic/PCI_Install_5673_0820.zip Remember to ininstall the old one before you install the new driver. Best of luck. AudioVayne 10-21-2007, 05:45 PM yeah, but at least we made it further than aussie! So they can't boast about being better than us! Just to let you know, this laptop has always run XP home i think, so sound drivers shouldn't be impossible to find. What exactly did you want me to do? I ran the second link to download the driver, installed (don't know how to select which driver) but i ran the setup, installed and still no luck. |
