dariagurl 11-17-2004, 04:29 PM Hi,
I am running Windows XP Professional with SP2 and my computer keeps resetting by itself. The Microsoft Online Crash Analysis said this:
Thank you for submitting an error report. Microsoft is unable to specifically determine what caused the problem you reported. If you would like to try and troubleshoot the problem, please utilize the information listed below.
Analysis
A device driver installed on your system caused the problem, but we cannot determine the precise cause. Depending on which situation is applicable to you, do one of the following:
If this problem occurred after you installed a new hardware device on your system, the problem might be caused by the driver for the device. If you know the manufacturer of the device, contact the manufacturer's product support service for assistance.
Some software, such as firewall and anti-virus software, also installs drivers. If this problem occurred after you installed new software, the software might have installed a driver that caused the problem. If you know the manufacturer of the software, contact the manufacturer's product support service for assistance.
If you don't know the driver's manufacturer and need help diagnosing and resolving this problem, contact your computer manufacturer's product support service.
Updated drivers might be available on the Microsoft Windows Update Web site. At Windows Update, you can have your computer scanned and, if there are updated drivers available, Windows Update will offer a selection of drivers that you might be able to use. To learn more about updated drivers that might be available, visit Microsoft Windows Update.
For information about Microsoft support options, visit Microsoft Product Support Services.
I don't know what device driver is causing this problem. What should I do?
howard_hopkinso 11-17-2004, 05:47 PM Hello and welcome to Techspot.
If you right click my computer select properties then the advanced tab then click on system startup system failure and debugging information settings then uncheck the box which says automatically restart also under write debugging information select none.
Now when your system crashes you should receive a bsod (blue screen of death) which will tell you what caused the stop error.
When this happens see if any drivers are identified in the stop message these will take the form of a file name I.E win32k.sys or sisnic.sys etc etc.
If you don`t know what the driver is then post back with the exact error message and somone will take a look at it and let you know.
I hope this helps Regards Howard
Liquidlen 11-17-2004, 05:53 PM Welcome to Techspot!
Those little message are relatively useless to normal Humans.
Were there any other Error messages or Blue screens?
How often does the computer reset?
Can you recall what you were running when you had your problem?
Make a note of any error message pay close attention to any file names that are mentioned.
If your computer won't stay up long enough,
You should try Booting into 'Safe Mode' Look in 'Device Manager and see if there are Yellow exclamation marks next to any of your components.
Also check the Event log ,for system and Application, errors this is located in the Computer Management window.Look for red stop signs and right click beside those .
Get back to us with any particulars.
P.S. I wrote this at the same time as Howard ,forgive any duplication and start with what he said . Work your way though until you find some info . Then post back.
Nippy 12-01-2004, 03:02 PM Hi
I am a new user and I've been searching for help and have virtually the same problem as dariagurl.
When I get the blue screen it refers to the file "pscaudio.sys" as being the problem.
I have all the latest drivers, no conflicts reported but whenever I use garphics and sound together (such as using mediaplayer 10 or games my PC either locks up or reboots.
My system is as follows:
AMD athlon 1.2 on K7T Pro2-A (MS-6330) KT 133 VIA chipset
256 RAM
nvidia GEforce 4 MX 440
Philips 605 sonic edge sound card
WIN XP HE SP2
I would appreciate any help thanks

jeffstanger 01-29-2005, 04:08 AM Hi guys,
I am a new member too and I am also having the same problem. Thankyou to those who have posted information so far and I hope I can contribute in some way.
I am also running XP SP2 with all the updates current. I have included all the details of my system in my profile if they are needed.
Basically I have had multiple crashes that appear to happen at random intervals, now they are generally about 0.5 of an hour appart. I have trawled through all the windows documents I can find and I have tried everything but nothing has worked. The frequency of these crashes has varied wildly in the past.
This all started a few months ago when I had a crash after installing many new things (2 hard drives, memory and SP2) I thought atbthe time that I had changed too many things at once and after a lot of work it was too much to undo what I had just done to find the problem. I eventually rolled back SP2 and the situation improved for a while but the crashes eventually happened more often and now I have reinstalled SP2 hoping it might help?
I got some errors telling me that the driver for my video card was to blame so I brought a new video card but this didnt fix the problem. After reading the suggestions in this thread I turned off the auto restart function and recieved error messages via the blue screen of death. Examples in order with some of my attempts ar included below.
1. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
STOP 0x00000050 (0xb6790a30, 0x00000000, 0x804ef118, 0x00000003)
2. STOP: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0xbf861ffc, 0xf1f83aoc, 0x00000000)
win32k.sys - address bf861ffc base at bf80000
I did some research on this error message and saw that it may be caused by a RAM problem so I removed the RAM chip that I put in previously. I have not seen the specific error 0x0000008E since but the problem continues as frequent as ever.
I also flashed the BIOS on the motherboard to the latest version but this has made no difference either.
It appears that a hotfix for one cause of this error has been included in SP2 but it hasn't help my problem.
3. The latest error messages at the blue screen are the same as in 1. above.
I am wondering where to turn now? Should I just buy a new computer and convert this one to a LINUX box? This is not my first preference because I am only a poor teacher and therefore money is an issue but I can't go without my computer for too long becuase I need it for work.
I fanyone has any other ideas or possibilities I would be really grateful. I don't really want to admit it but my Mac OSX machine is looking more attractive by the second.
Thanks and I hope for the sake of the others with this same problem we find an answer soon.
Cheers,
Jeff
Liquidlen 01-29-2005, 09:13 AM Jeff ; I can not tell whether you would be better off with Linux or Mac . Windows can have problems and so can the other O/S, I will say that I have found that most problems can come after making changes to your machine ,software or hardware.
I pulled this off of a google;
http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?t=107929&page=2&pp=15
Obviously Microsoft hasn't created a fix but they recognize that there is a problem. In cases like this I have used older drivers etc. So after you confirm that your Ram is good , Try back dating some of the drivers you might have installed ,one at a time.
Windows can be a pain ,but the vast majority of machines do run well and reliable with it.
Let us know how your troubleshooting proceeds.

I think you may have a driver conflict happening ,but I am not sure about the software you have. In particular any programs concerning DVD/CD writer (packet writing etc) If you have more than one loaded I would remove them all cleanly and reinstall only one of them.
List these programs so we can see what is onyour Machine.
You might also try backing out of Media player 10 ,try 9
jeffstanger 01-29-2005, 06:14 PM Hi there,
Thanks for the reply. As you could probably tell I am getting a bit feb up with this problem. Thanks for your level headed advice, I will persevere. I'll let you guys know if I have any success.
Cheers,

cpc2004 01-30-2005, 05:58 PM Hi Jeffstanger,
90% of the crashes are caused by non-Microsoft device driiver or hardware error. Attach 3 to 5 minidumps here and I will examine the dumps. You can find the minidump at the folder \windows\minidump. Remember to change the file extension from .dmp to .txt, otherwise you can cannot attach the dumps here
whitefeather 01-31-2005, 10:14 PM i'm having the same problem as some of the other users here, i've attached a few mini dumps so that hopefully someone can figure out what my problem is

any help is appreciated
cpc2004 02-01-2005, 09:43 AM Hi Whitefeather,
It is hardware problem of your CPU. The second Bugcheck parameter should be either 0 or 1, but it is 8 which is invalid. Win32k is windows core component and it is non-paged (ie page fixed). However windows cannot read win32k.sys and it must be hardware error.

whitefeather 02-01-2005, 02:00 PM it helps some, but i don't understand why my cpu would be giving me a problem. it is new and hasn't been overclocked or anything. i didn't start getting these errors until i installed the second 512 memory module, its exactly the same as the first memory module. also, it seems i only get the errors when i run the memory in dual channel mode, in single channel i don't seem to get the errors.
cpc2004 02-01-2005, 03:00 PM To Whitefeather,
Send the minidump to Intel and ask why you get the CPU hardware message.
neilfitt 02-22-2005, 12:53 PM Hi, just joined up and am a complete beginnner so apologise if this has been covered elsewhere.
PC started restarting a few weeks ago with the error message "Error Caused by a Device Driver" as some people above have also described. Occasionally though, the error message would be "Hardware Failure" or something similar to that. I have stopped my Computer from automatically rebooting and now get the BSOD fairly regularly with any one of the following error messages:
win32k.sys Address BF8010FDbase at BF800000 (most often)
or I get one of the following:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_RESPONDING
BAD_POOL_HEADER
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Sometimes the PC doesn't start up at all but makes worrying beeps.....
The PC is a Fujitsu-Siemans Scaleo 600
AMD Athlon Processor 3000+
Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2
Other software on it: Itunes, ACDSee Photo software, Norton, Adaware, Intervideo WinDVD, Weightwatchers software, Boots photo viewer, Quick time, Adobe etc
Can anyone help? many thanks...
Liquidlen 02-22-2005, 05:08 PM Neilfit - Welcome toi Techspot!
Those beeps you are getting when your computer does not boot come from your BIOS. These are patterns of long and short beeps ,listen to them and make note of the pattern eg '1 long and two short beeps ' that repeat. These are important as there will be a matching error code indicating where the problem lies in your Hardware.
You can check the website of the Company that wrote your Bios for a translation of the beep code you are getting or do a search here for" Beep Code" I know they have been listed.
Then post back with what you find if you need more help.

What exactly is the brand and model of the Ram you installed ?
Keibra1 02-25-2005, 11:43 PM Hey again i am new,
I have asked everywhere about this problem and no-one knows what to do.
I'll be doing something online and my computer will just turn itself off, it'll then restart and i get the microsoft serious error message. It says that my webstar cable modem dpx100 was the cause and that scientific atlanta..have a new update to fix the problem. so i went to their site and updated the drivers, but my computer is still doing it. I also had the same problem and it told me it was my printer so i uninstalled that! Its really driving me mad, can anyone help?
I have just updated my system by adding a 120gb hard drive and an extra 256mb ram. My system was fine b4.
My system info is as follows
Windows xp professional version 2002 no sp2 as yet due to format.
Amd athlon(tm) XP 1500+
1.30 ghz
512mb ram
I hope someone can help me?
Thanks

cpc2004 02-26-2005, 05:19 PM Hi Tracy,
Attach 3 to 4 minidumps here and you can find them at the folder \windows\mindumps
Keibra1 02-27-2005, 06:56 AM Hi Cpc ... ty for helping me, I'll add the minidumps here although i am not sure what i am doing hope they are ok
Thanks for ur help hun.

cpc2004 02-27-2005, 12:36 PM I've processed your minidump and they are invalid. Usually the memory is inaccessible implies seve hardware problem such as CPU, M/B, RAM or PSU.

neilfitt 03-01-2005, 11:58 AM Liquidlen, many thanks for your time and help. Since my last post, the beeps have only occurred 1ce and there seems to be no pattern to them. I counted 21 beeps of equal length and then got bored! PC is still switching off / rebooting regularly with the usual BSOD screen messages of IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or something else equally unintelligible to me.
This is becoming quite annoying now. Am I risking damage to my hardware by letting this continue? Perhaps I should get a professional round.
Anyone know if it would be better (i.e cheaper) for me to get someone round or take it into a shop somewhere?
Thanks again for your help
bmdurr 03-05-2005, 02:00 AM I have very similar problems to what has been indicated. I have had several errors that shut down the computer and restart with the same message from Microsoft - device driver but can't determine which device. When I go to my device driver I have one device with a yellow question mark and exclamation point - Video controller (VGA Compatible). The location shows as PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0. It has a Code 1 for device not configured properly but when I try to reinstall the driver the wizard responds that can't find the necessary media. I don't know what this is associated with so I don't know if I have a CD rom.
I have also received various error messages as follows:
BCCode:1000008e, BCP1:c0000005, BCP2:80585504, BCP3: F61B58C0, BCP4:00000000, OSver: 5_1_2600, SP:2_0, Product 768_1 (occurred 2/20/05)
BCCode:1000000a, BCP1:00000000, BCP2:00000002, BCP3:00000001,BCP4:804E750B. same info for remaining piece as above
I had a new power unit and casing installed because it was shutting down in summer of 2004. Repair was done by Geeksquad at circuit city. Ran fine for a while and then started shutting down.
I have a Athlon XP Processor 2400+, AK-32A ATX AMD Motherboard, PC-2100 512 DDR SDRAM memory with Windows XP Home edition. I also have a wireless external card I use to access the web. I had Spy sweeper on it but took it off because thought it might be the cause. I am very unsophisticated at fixing the computer but I've searched the microsoft website to try and fix before I take it back to Geeksquad - but they didn't inspire a lot of confidence when I spoke to them.
Help please!
bmdurr 03-05-2005, 04:15 PM Ok it looks like I have an error every time I turn this computer on. I saw the tip about getting rid of the auto restart so this time the blue screen gave me the following information:
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
Stop: 0x0000004e (0x0000008f, 0x00010038, 0x00011d38, 0x000000)
Anyone with any ideas for what my problem could be. Oh I am also running Windows XP Professional software but I'm pretty sure the problem was occurring prior to that. Also I think the error occurs generally when I am on the internet but may also be occurring at other times.
Liquidlen 03-05-2005, 05:29 PM Liquidlen, many thanks for your time and help. Since my last post, the beeps have only occurred 1ce and there seems to be no pattern to them. In fact 1single beep, repeating is a pattern . Go to the web site for your board or go to the company that wrote the bios and look up the the beepcode for that.
It will tell you what problem the board is having.
DMBRR;
Your problem lies with a video card when you look in Device manager there should be a model number and name listed on the property page(right click on that device beside the yellow exclamation) Drivers need updating .
Often you can uninstall the device in Device Manager and then reboot to force Windows to reload drivers.
Black_lotus 03-06-2005, 11:06 AM Hi to anyone who is reading this.
My life is has suddently turned to hell as my computer is having those blue screens of death. When i install something/ burn i loose data and Dvd r's and sometimes its just like that.
When ever i do something it happens after 5 mins after logging on as admin.I mean its not exactyly but i am trying to say its not a quick reboot. Also in the BOD it does not specify any file names or anything there is technical info such as in the bottom ive written.
Ive tried to find out which device driver is causing this problem by so many means.I had gone to device manager and found no yellow marks.Ive tried safe mode to see which area is causing problems.I have probably formatted my drive around 9 times to do everything so carefully some how till now no luck... ive goten white hair due tot thinking soo hard about what to do... you cannot imagine i cannot even sleep thinking that soemthing bad is gona happen when i work.
I have the latest service packs all updates and believe me when i say so that ive tried a lot.Microsofts error report says its caused by error report thats all THEY ARE OF NO help at all.I started having these after 4 months of purchase of this CPU.Everything is brand new from sound card to graphic card... welll at that time.
These are the only drivers i have installed right now.I just thought i should repair windows again during windows installation it went nuts again by that restarting thing.so after repair right now as i mentioned before i got 3 drivers windows exp latest service pack.
Well its ALLLLLL inbuilt i think all of it!
the ERROR I RECIEVED IS :
In the technical information it said the following:
Stop: 0x0000000A (0x0a030011 , 0x00000002,0x00000001,0x80509099)
then in the bottom it said dumping mini dump and it was counting down like 1 2 3 4 5 6 and continuing.Plzz help
yet i got restarts HELP!.
My pc is 2.4ghz
p4p800 Assus Motherboard
GeForce 4 Mx 440SE
512 Ram
1dvd drive
1dvd writer drive
1 floppy drive...
webcam.. logitech
wireless mouse / keyboard..(microsoft)
btw did i say that i had NO yellow marks in device manager.Everywhere it says everything is fine.. but its just not.

cpc2004 03-06-2005, 12:47 PM Hi bmdurr,
Bugcheck 8E can be caused by outdated nVidia display driver or ZoneAlarm or Faulty Ram. Bugcheck 4E is usually caused by faulty ram. Most likely it is the ram problem.
cpc2004 03-06-2005, 12:53 PM To Black Lotus,
Your PC reboots so frequent and it is hardware. Attach 5 to 6 minidumps here and I will examine the minidumps. I will reply to you with finding.
yummytofu5 03-06-2005, 08:22 PM My computer randomly restarts itself and I receive the message "The system has recovered from a serious error." Then, my computer reports the error to Microsoft (like other people's problems) and I get "error caused by a device driver" from the Microsoft page. Also, I got another message later on from Microsoft that it's an "error caused by graphics device driver." I set my computer so that when it does shut down, I get the BSOD. @@ So I was running test on the display driver earlier and it BSODed me. I got this:
STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x804E8B48, 0xF07E5BF4, 0x00000000)
However, when I ran the test again to see if that had caused it to BSOD, the test passed without returning an error. Thanks for any help. :blackeye:
Here are some of the mindumps:
bmdurr 03-07-2005, 02:18 AM Thanks for the suggestion but when I check properties it says no information is available. I went to the website for Nvidia to try and load drivers - I selected on for Gforce but don't know if I have the right one. When I try to update the drive it still says can't find. I saved the driver in my F drive instead of C drive because I'm out of room. Also don't know if it's related but my DVD/CD rom won't read anything. It's a Samsung (model SM-352BRNS)
bmdurr 03-07-2005, 02:31 AM Thanks for the input. Is there a way to verify the RAM problem? I had new 512 RAM installed in September 2004 by Geeksquad because when they ran a test the memory failed. Is the only fix to repair the RAM?

Here theya are.. opss man for some reason it aint letting me there is a thread called device driver "help" please and stuff by me it has the thread vcuz the messege says uve already uploaded this and stuff. so could u have a look at that issue?

cpc2004 03-07-2005, 08:26 AM To Yummytofu5,
I've processed your dumps. 5 dumps failed with different bugcheck code such 0A, 24, 44, C5 and D1. Bugcheck code 44 and C5 are usually caused by faulty hardware such as ram, m/b, psu or CPU. Your Windows is crashed by hardware
cpc2004 03-07-2005, 08:39 AM To Black Lotus,
All of your minidumps are inaccessible and it implies that your windows crashes due to sever hardware problem.
Mictlantecuhtli 03-07-2005, 10:21 AM I just don't understand this.
When there's a device driver error (or just about any Blue Screen Of Death), it's always hardware to blame.
Yet for some reason, the same hardware used to work fine before doing a operating system upgrade, for example. Or works in a different operating system.
So, when the software doesn't work, change the hardware.
Black_lotus 03-07-2005, 11:01 AM cpc when u say minidumps are inaccesible what u mean? like u cannot load it or open it?.It is because in this only txt could be laoded so all data in mini dump i copy and pasted on the notepad and saved it.You seems o be soo implying it is hardware but ive never experianced such problems until after 5 months of its purchase.
Liquidlen 03-07-2005, 01:58 PM BlackLotus and Dmburr;
Take a look at Mich.. post above he is trying to tell you something.
Troubleshooting will produce more specific answers answers relative to the amount of error info you can specify.
The information in a BSOD that is pertinent is the message line eg.
AGE_FAULT_IN_NON-PAGED_AREA NOTE
And any File name if mentioned eg pciide.sys
Those other numbers are not usally very helpful to most .
Also Right click on your " My Computer icon and click Manage, then open your Event Veiwer> System Events
Open the property page for any events with a red stop sign on them and post info here.
If the event viewer is not turned on you can do that it will begin to return info immediately on reboot.
Next look for Dr. Watson it will produce log files for troubleshooting .Post them here.
BlackLotus;
You said you moved to India recently, if your problems started then it is possible parts got loosened ,I would suggest reseating all cards and connectors ,plus a good cleaning in the Case.
If that doen't work try to uninstall the updates 1 at a time to see if one of them is responsible.
The fact that you get errors during CD writing may point to that software.
You will need to tackle these items methodically to eliminate second guessing and jumping to and fro.
DMburr;
You can force Windows to install the newest drivers by uninstalling the Vid card in Device manager>reset the display to use Standard VGA drivers ,then reboot 1 time ,Do not allow windows to install your Vid card on the restart. Then delete the files out of the Recycle bin and delete any reference to the vidcard file in Explorer.then rboot and point the install of drivers to where you saved them.
You mention not having any space on your C:\ drive. That can cause a lot of errors.Post the size of that drive ,free space and size and placement of your page file.
bmdurr 03-08-2005, 12:22 AM Liquidlen thanks for your response. I tried several of the things you suggested but I am such a novice I don't think I know how to do everything you suggested. Regarding the troubleshooting information I checked the event viewer for system, application and security. I found several repeating errors, the two most frequent were as follows:
Windows operating system, file name - faultrep.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180 and file name - netevent.dll, version 5.1.2600.0. Another error was windows installer, file name - msi.dll, version 3.0.3790.2180.
Your note indicated to next look for "Dr. Watson" because it would produce log files for troubleshooting. I don't know what that is or how to post any files. Please advise.
Also I tried the uninstall process for the video card in the device manager but I don't know exactly which one is the device manager and also I don't know for sure what type of video card I have so when I went to get the new drivers I don't know if it's the right one. When I tried to reinstall the driver using your directions it indicated it couldn't find the drivers. Is there a "repair book for dummies" that could give me step by step instructions or should I just take this thing to Geeksquad?
Regarding my C drive the information is as follows:
Capacity - 4.76 GB; Free space 461 MB; Used space 4.31GB
What is the "placement of page file?"
cpc2004 03-08-2005, 09:36 AM To Black Lotus, the minidump is inaccessible by windows debugging utility because the dump is invalid. When windows crashes, it dumps the memory to paging space as staging area. Windows is reboot before the minidump is written to paging space and it implied Windows encounter sever hardware error. Hence the dump is taken unsuccessful. This forum accept *.txt and *.zip. It is need to use notepad to save minidump to *.txt. You can rename the *.dmp to *.txt or zip the minidump. Zip the dump is more easier as some people does not know how to rename the file extension from txt to dmp.You can re-attach the minidump here if you suspect you corrupt the minidump by notepad.

I will walk you through these things (If you want to try, or take it in ),but you'll have some work to do if you want to learn this stuff..
Your C:\ has very little free space 10% is not much room.
I need you to give me the HDD layout of your machine # of partitions ,sizes ,free space.Where O/S&general Programs are loaded(Do not itemize).
I need to know your page file settings , Go to Start>Control panel>Performance &Maintenance>Performance>advanced>Virtual memory>Change (do do anthing ,just note the drives and page file sizes per)
Close these widows clicking OK to Hardware Tab in System Properties, then click Device Manager> ckick the + next to Display adapters > that should open to the model and name of your Vid card(make note)
Right click on the Card icon and that will give you drver versions ,update etc from this page.
Then you can go to the web for it and download the latest drivers
I will check to nite to see if you want to deal with this stuff.
In the meantime go to Microsoft Support and use those file name you got from system event to investigate what they refer to .
Be Patient.

Inexactitude 03-13-2005, 08:44 PM Hi, I have recently been playing games, using intervideo windvd, and windows media player 9 lately, and within 20-30 minutes of use, they encounter a problem and need to close, or either my whole computer just shuts off and restarts itself. Usually a bSoD comes up, but it is only up for about 1 second, not enough time for me to read it, then my computer starts up. Upon windows starting back up, I get the message above about a problem with a device driver, I've been spending the last few weeks upgrading all the drivers and downloading various programs and nothing has seemed to work. I don't know much about the problem but what Windows Crash Analysis has to say, which is about the device driver. I also have some dmp's that might help? The dmps are the only thing I could think of to maybe get some ideas. Thanks.
cpc2004 03-14-2005, 09:14 AM Hi Inexactitude,
One of your XP crash is at tcpip.sys and two of crashes are at navExt15.sys. I've searched no known bugs at these two modules. Most likely it is the hardware error. Zip 5 to 10 minidump and attach the zip file here if you want me to confirm this is a hardware error.
Inexactitude 03-14-2005, 03:16 PM I'll attach some more dumps. Yesterday, recently after my post, while playing the game "Quake III Arena", My computer shut off then I got a bSoD. This time it actually stayed up for about 5 -10 minutes for me to actually read it. The Stop error was as follows: ***STOP: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0x804F79D3, 0xF4F71934, 0x00000000)
I do not know what this means, but I was hoping you may have information on this stop error? Thanks, Inexactitude
If this is a hardware error, do you propose I buy a brand new computer. This one is really getting on my nerves and it's frustrating not knowing how to fix it. Thanks again,
Inexactitude
cpc2004 03-15-2005, 10:35 AM Hi Inexactitude,
1)
mini030105-03.txt is inaccessible by windbg hence I confirm that your PC crash is related to hardware. Whenever the windows has severe hardware problem and the minidump is taken incomplete hence it is inaccessible by time. The next question is which is the faulty hardware and I think it is either CPU or motherboard.
2)
One of the minidumps crashed with bugcheck EA which is caused by nVidia Display Card driver. Install the latest nVidia Display Driver or version 61.77 http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_61.77.html

If you click on the error(next to the Stop icon) in the Event veiwer you were in ,and then right click you will get a detailed description of the problem ( file names , devices ,etc.)If you post those details here someone will be able to help you.
I will not be emailing you, we should work through the problem here. This allows others to help and/or solve their own problems.
This is the whole idea of this Forum.
Inexactitude 03-15-2005, 06:59 PM cpc2004,
I have already downloaded 61.77 via another site that was explaining nvidia graphics driver errors etc. I still have had the same problem after getting this.
Inexactitude 03-15-2005, 08:48 PM Ok, my computer has just crashed again, and I have received several errors. (every time I tried to restart I got a new one) they are as follows:
***STOP: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0xBFBD6877, 0xF3C57AA0, 0x00000000)
***nv4_disp.dll Adress BFBD6877 base at BF9D3000, DateStamp 40f6d75c
The above was part of the same error, and another one:
CONFIG_INITIALIZATION_FAILED
***STOP: 0x00000067 (0x00000001, 0x0000000D, 0xc0000005, 0x00000000)
and then one final one:
***STOP: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xF88ADFD, 0xF8CF0AC0, 0xF8CF07BC)
***ACPI.SYS - Adress F883ADFD base at F8826000, DateStamp 41107d27
Any information about these erros would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance, (I)Inexactitude(/I)

I looked on my cd that came with my computer and have installed the live update and things seem to be better but I appear to have 2 processors?

cpc2004 03-18-2005, 09:23 AM Hi Inexatitude,
In my previous post, your PC has two problem. You fixed the software problem and it minimise the the blue screen. As you haven't fixed the hardware problem, BSOD still occurs.
