internet appears with random letters

ok when i open my internet the box just apears with random letters. i have tried refreshing and going to other sites but they all do this, also my AIM connects but a few seconds after i recieve a message it logs off. if n e 1 knows a way to fix this with out reformating thatd be awsome.

thisproblem pertains to a friends computer so pls dont say "well how did u get to this site" or ne thing like that because i am using mine currently.
