Do you think that the RIAA will target CD-Rs next?

I am sure that most of you are aware that the RIAA has not been too popular because of constant lawsuits against alleged file sharers. Many people imagined that group(s) would be upset about CDRs, but will the RIAA really attack CDRs next? Please check out this link (http://www.forbes.com/digitalentertainment/2005/08/15/riaa-targets-cds-cx_variety_0815riaa.html) and let me know what you think!

Personally, I believe that the RIAA wouldn't mind putting a tax (like Canada already has) on all blank CDs. Good idea? Bad idea? Respond! :)

if they do im going to be mightily pissed, as will the rest of the cdr-buying country. sounds unlikely they will pass that kind of a tax. then again, if the riaa is affiliated with the republicans...

I was under the impression here in the US blank cds that are labeled Audio are already taxed by the RIAA. But not the ones labeled data.
