Cool... A GeForce 7800 GT would really boost my computer's performance. Right now I have a 5200 PCI! :blackeye:

Nice giveaway, count me in. All though my Rig has an AGP slot, I would so throw in the money to get a PCI-E Mobo. :grinthumb

I know that i need a new video card. I just built my current computer, and I slaked off on the video card. Most of my money went to the motherboard and processor...I hate to admit this, but I am currently using the graphics on my motherboard. It would be great to have this baby in my computer case!

:slurp: At the mo I'm using a 6600 (AGP), but when I upgrade my mobo I'll need a PCI express card so this will do nicely.

Being the newcomer I am I understand the chances of me winning this card are relatively slim (also so late in the contest). But I figure Ill give a go at it. Thanks for the opportunity.

Well, competition is tough, but why would I miss out on such a giveaway? The 7800 will always come in handy in CG rendering.

Ha I could have a graphics card that matches the rest of my hardware. Its real annoying when you have everything great except for something so crucial as a graphics card

I'm "In like Flint" (you know this saying comes from a '60's movie titile starring James Coburn, right?)

Even if I don't win the awesome Graphics card, I recently "won" when I found a site called "Lime Wire". I know, some of you are saying, "Old news, dude"! This peer-to-peer site offers more than enough access to the music that I couldn't find anywhere else!

I'm an R&B fan of the "old school" of rock. Lime Wire connects me with other file-saring people that have similar musical interests. The big PLUS is it doesn't cost a ridiculous amount of money!! People are getting "ripped-off", everyday, by sites like Rhapsody and others that charge a dollar a song! I can go buy the CD for that price!! Forget it. "Pay no attention (or money) to that man behind the curtain"... just remember "Lime Wire". Lime Wire... Lime Wire... Lime Wire... Lime Wire... We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. ('80's rock group, right?)

Winning the New Year Giveaway would be great!

Nothing could make my day... my year... but mostly my computer... BETTER!

The last graphics card "situation" that I went through is another story...

I got a new computer for Christmas... from Dell.

I realized that I should have gotten a better graphics card. Oops! Oh well, the people at Dell tell me, on the phone, that I could purchase an upgrade...

No problem, right?...

By the next month, Dell is sending the new graphics card (it took so long because of the Christmas holiday). Hopefully, this should help upgrade my Dimension 3000 that I purchased, through their finance program.

They built and outfitted this system over a month ago... they should know what in the Dell they're doing, right?

They send the wrong card.

By February 2005, Dell has me download a new BIOS... Why would they have me do that? They said the card might need a different BIOS... uhh... I play along with this stupidity, knowing that when I first ran the computer, it was working fine with the on-board graphics. The new card would be in a PCI slot. Is this too hard to understand?

That card didn't work. Dell said (in broken english) that I needed to upgrade my memory to support the card. More finance charges!

In March, another card was sent from Dell. Yep. You guessed it. Wrong card.

All of the while, I am on the phone with customer service, support, and technicians chatting through language translation software that translates Arabic. Just "dandy"... it gets worse...

Four graphics cards later... I have now have a working computer.

From the phone order placed on December 21, to the final working product...

SIX MONTHS!!!

DELL SUCKS!!!!
