This is afaik the first time I have posted on techspot ( yes I know it said to be in with a chance to make numerous quality posts ) which is what I am going to attempt to do.

Anyway just thought that a post to these 2 review sites would be handy to take into consideration with regards to the 7800 :

Toms hardware ( more specifically this URL )

http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/09/seven_of_nvidia/

And firing squad :

http://www.firingsquad.com/

It's true with regards to upgrading from an AGP motherboard to a motherboard that supports PCI-E which would also require a CPU change and possibly RAM as I already have DDR RAM but with DDR-2 out and obviously the pace at which things change it would be nice imho to see DDR-3 to be used with motherboards, I mean they use DDR-3 on graphics cards, so why not motherboards ?

It would be nice to have the chance to win the 7800 because that would mean I could probably build a new machine and use one as a storage machine and the other one for playing games etc hence not having all my stuff in one place.

Specs of my current machine are :

Asus P4P800 E Deluxe
Prescott P4 3Ghz with 1Mb Level 2 Cache and H/T
1gb of DDR RAM ( 2 * 512 Sticks of crucial 400mhz )
4 hard drives ( 1 raptor 10,000 RPM Sata hdd, 1 IBM 120 gb desk star, 1 30gb maxtor and an external 200gb maxtor )
Nvidia 5900 FX 8* AGP
Sound Blaster Live Audigy 4 Pro
21" sony Multiscan 500PS monitor

Creative 7.1 surround sound speakers
wireless keyboard and mouse by logitech.

Anyway I am most likely late to the party but I would like to be in with a chance of winning one of those 7800 nvidia cards.

I would love to replace my current geforce 5600 otes card.

also i am wondering if someone can help, i have quake 4 installed went to play it, i was adjusting some hardware setting, i set my sound to open al, i have audigy 2 zs platinum, now it loads up until the where it says menu loading, then kicks out of the game, there is no safe-mode option to change it back, is there an option to fix that problem or set it back to the way it was, or do i have to reinstall q4. if any one has any suggestions plx respond.

on the shortcut put " - safe " onto the end of the target properties. that works most of the time

I would love a new Video card, being that I need a newer, and faster one anyways. I'm a gaming freakzoid, so this would be a great gift for me. After all, I deserve something for daily deeds lol. So in short, you can count me in your contest guaranteed.

I dont know why you guys are complaining you really need this card by saying you have a really cheap card 5-6 years old. Obviously some are true, but if you do have old cards the 7800 GT will not work in whatever system you have is holding these old cards. And by the way, everyone is always very proud of their machine specs, trying to out do each other with who has the best stuff inside their case. Now all of a sudden everyone has old cards that came out in 98-2000!!!
Now I have a decent card(9800 128MB) and a 7800 GT would be nice, as im a heavy gamer and Call of Duty 2 is the most power hungry game ive ever played(even more than Doom 3!) and its always nice to win hardware...

I did the same thing to Call of Duty 1. My sound didnt work. I have Audigy 2 ZS as well. Actually, what i did was reinstall my Audigy card, and it worked. If you dont want to reinstall quake cause you have game saved, you can go into save folder of any game(most of the time) and drag your saved file out, the reinstall quake, and drag it back in.
Cool, never heard of attaching '-safe' to target file. Ill try it! :o

I came on this site to get some information on touble shooting me PC and here I find a contest for a kick'in video card. Now that that is out of the way. Has anyone had any problems with the MSI P4N diamond mobo. First I coundn't get the display to come up at all. Then I figured out that the display would come up if I hit the enter key. Now I've got a Media test failure error.

I think this is the command, isn't it?;)
Well, what can I say?I own a trustworthy and top-of-its-line Radeon 9200, but its fading day by day confronted to new games and even to latest professional applications with 3D hardware acceleration support like 3dmax, maya and many others. I am not a game freak, but a 7800GT would surely help me becoming one, also it would surely help my 3d work, which I don't do almost at all lately due to hardware limitations...:(
Good luck to everybody!
