My bro has a Acer Veriton 7100 w/S58M mobo. Would not boot to win98se.
Went into safe mode and disabled ACPI. Will now boot to win. Do not see an option to load APM only. Think the bios needs updating. Only place found update for bios, R05-C4, was Acer Europe. Problem is the file is in bin,cue format. Used Nero to burn image. Mounted and get nothing. Wonder what i am doing wrong. I really was hoping to get his puter fixed before Xmas. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted at
sendmespam@somedomain.net. Thanks......

Uhm. Are you sure it was a bin/cue CD image and not a plain .bin ROM image?

Did you read the BIOS update instructions on the website?

And, it is very silly of you to post your e-mail address on public websites. Do you like spam?

How sure? Want to bet $100? :p

I went to http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/desktop/veriton_3200.html and sure enough, the BIOS update is a .bin file. Where is the .cue???

In addition to the ROM image, you need a program that can flash the BIOS. It should be supplied by Acer or you can try this universal one calld "uniflash".

With the boot block function in bios setup on the Acer Veriton 7100 u do not need to use the flash utility. Info from Acer-Euro site.
