Recently a mate of mine has been getting blue screens pretty often and has just had the chance to jot down the error message he's been getting. Which is as follows;

STOP: 0x00000050 (0xEC83EC8D, 0x00000000, 0xBAB9124E, 0x00000002)

Also in the event log;

His system spec is as follows;

AMD Athlon 64 x2 5200+
XP Professional
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe ,AM2 ,nForce 570 SLI, PCIe - ATX Mainboard
2048MB DDR2 533MHz Memory - (2x 1024MB)
320GB Serial ATA Hard Drive with 16MB Buffer
768MB nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX

There is plenty of information availble on this forum that you can find with a search. Also, lots with a Google search, and on the knowledge base at Microsoft.
This is a common set of errors, and there are several fixes that will take care of the problem... but so many options that it is difficult to know where to start here... common are memory failure, video graphics card or driver failure...

Searching the web and these forums for, STOP: 0x00000050 (0xEC83EC8D, 0x00000000, 0xBAB9124E, 0x00000002) has brought back nothing. Is there nothing available to narrow down the problem?...

Those codes are usually just memory dumps... and usually do not tell you anything useful... showing what material was dumped in which locations... It can tell you stuff about memory and other items... particularly if the condition repeats.

The problem may related to hardware or software problem (ie such as Norton AV, Netlimter, ZoneAlarm, ANYDVD and etc). Dump analysis is required to find out the culprit. Zip 4 to 5 minidumps and attach the zip files here. You can find the minidumps at the folder \windows\minidumps\minixxxx07_xx.dmp

Hello Im rexlis friend who is having the problems.
I found the file and took out 4 minidump files.

just thought i would add i get these crashes normally wen playing world of warcraft but sometimes on desktop also.
The strange thing is i can get like 5+ crashes in a row then go for like 2 days without any.

i also got a blue screen with this info on it:

This stop error is related to video drivers... Surprize, surprize! ... and guess what? It's a Nvidia video card :) Maybe we should give Rexli a class in proper Internet searching too

The cullprit is faulty ram. Reseat the ram to another ram slot. If it still crashes, run memtest to stress test the ram.

The minidumps say memory... Microsoft says video drivers... Who's right? Time will tell :)

just got home from work gonna see how its running today and as i have 2 ram sticks il try running with just 1 as well maybe that will help.

Where do Microsoft say video drivers are to blame for Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area? Mabye you should give me that lesson in searching the Internet and i wouldnt have to waste my time replying to such useless posts.

the culprit is ram 99% sure

ok i took one ram stick out and my pc has run fine all night.
