Hey guys im new to the whole computer hardware thing so i have a quick question.

I currently have a Asus M3A78-EM Mother Board
With a AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.61ghz
A Geforce 8600 GT 256Mb
And 2Gb Ram
On Windows Xp 32 Bit
*EDIT* My power Supply is a Antec "Earthwatts" 500 Watts

I was wondering if my computer is capable of upgrading to a Galaxy - GeForce GT 520 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Galaxy+-+GeForce+GT+520+1GB+DDR3+PCI+Express+2.0+Graphics+Card/2344226.p?id=1218322060851&skuId=2344226&st=graphics%20card&cp=1&lp=4 and if it is, is it worth the $72
I will also be adding 2Gb of ram for a total of 4Gb which is the absolute max i would want in 32bit from what ive read.

Summary: Am i capable of upgrading to a GeForce GT 520 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 with my current mother board, and if so IS IT WORTH $72

Thanks for the help :)

What screen resolution ?

The GT520 is not a good card, particularly at that price.
If your stuck at the ~$70 price point then one of these would be a better fit:
PowerColor HD 5670 1Gb ($75, or $55 after mail-in rebate)
XFX HD 5670 1Gb ($73, or $58 after mail-in rebate) -slightly higher cost after MIR, but better warranty.
The HD 5670 offers significantly better performance than the GT520
The next step up the performance ladder is likely this
PowerColor HD 5750 1Gb ($100, or $80 after MIR)
...and then this
Sapphire HD 5770 1Gb ($115, or $95 after MIR)

The TechSpot site has a review of cards in the price range you are looking at >>here<<
This should give you some idea of what kind of performance per dollar you can expect to get. The HD 5750 and HD 6750 are, for all intents and purposes, the same card- the same can be said for the HD 5770 / HD 6770.
