HP / Dell / etc. laptop password help thread

I have just purchased last month my Dell Latitude D630 from eBay with password on BIOS! I have read every single post here on techspot, and I admire how some contributors like kimsland offer great support!

Well, from all my time reading here and there, I discovered that D620 and D630 cannot be PW Bios Reset (Or no one has done it so far the hardware way)

Since this is a 2nd hand laptop, I have no proof of ownership. The guy from eBay is out of business and I have no way to contact back!

Is there any way I can get this awesome Laptop to life?
Will calling Dell actually help as this is the only step I have not done!

Waiting from a pro advice from any professional contributor on this forum.

Yes I would suggest to try Dell themselves, and inform them of your struggle

Hi all.

N00b and first post here.

Would really appreciate any help for a friend of mine that works with me. He has done his back in playing football (!) and is crippled in pain.

I suggested that he stay in bed and use a laptop for company while he recuperates. He had an old one - a Dell Latitude 620 - that has an "Invalid System Configuration - please run SETUP", and when I do, I am presented with the grey-screen/password that everyone else here mentions.

Would really appreciate the password for the following service tag:

3VR1B2J-595B


Again, I am not the owner, but the IT guy in the company that the owner works for. :)

Hello, I recently bought my girlfriend a Dell latitude D260 because she has just started studying law at university but i am getting the grey screen of doom when i turn it on!
Can anyone help me please? it would be much appreciated.

Hey i'd like to know what to do whit a Latitude D630 ,
anyone ever done something whit a d630??
here is my thing
so i wanted to reinstall XP PRO, and figured as i arrived to the bios that everything was locked ,
Boot order and only hdd boot was selected and DVD boot is a long way down the list, so i can't do nothing yet cause
it's says BOOTMNG missing ctrlaltdel bla bla the usual thing,
so now im pretty #%$## Admin pass on the bios but not the hdd

so overall can't boot from CD/DVD neither usb
BOOTMNG is missing so
i can enter the bios but most of the options are locked ,
when i press f12 i can boot from hdd, or nothing except bios and diagnotic
i tried it didn't do anything to fix so, tried the ctrl F11 thing and nothing neither
don't know what to do ill chek if i can get a hash code..
 
I have an HP NX9010 with hash code of 01003. I'm looking for the master PW. Please help!

You must have me confused with another poster. I have not received any unlock codes for my machine. If I have overlooked the post for my one Dell laptop, then please point it out to me.

I was responding to hgpl's response to platycat. Where did I receive the 2 codes?

I was very fortunate and thankful for the two codes, and I have said my thank yous, Didn't mean to upset anyone though. Or cause confusion, just a dogooder trying to do more good

Who helped him -thinks it was txbigcat with the problem - i am still battleing my @$$ off with my dell (CJJH92J-595B) WINK WINK i was so desperate even thou i knew it will not work i shorted about every chip i can find but the thing just keeps on working ... and the bios password ... think i can use it as an external hard drive and paper weight.

i have a Dell D420 and from what I have read you cannot clear the bios password by shorting certain pins or removing the cmos battery so if you can help me I would be extremely grateful!
