hello
i have been using a hand me down computer that has some obvious issues. now i cant go online unless i am in safe mode with out the blue screen popping up and saying driver_irql_not_less_or_equal. in the meantime my taskbar and desktop have also disappeared and i can only use taskmanager on administrator even though my account has an administrator title also. please help me, i am novice to computer repair and am clueless.

driver_irql_not_less_or_equal errors are caused by faulty drivers or buggy software. At this point we don't know what driver or drivers are cauing this.

In Safe Mode do the following: scan for viruses, malware, etc. What security software does this PC have?

i installed Defender Pro 5 in 1 but it never ran correctly so i uninstalled that and installed a freeware called avanst antivirus. i am not so sure that it works all that great however

Avast is actually very good. Many, many people run it including myself on my second family rig. They update at least twice a day their virus definitions.

I don't know anything about Defender Pro 5 in 1. Were you having BSODs prior to installing yhis software?
