Awesome, the forums changed. I was a little apprehensive, wondering how they would look. But I think they look great.

It took me one good (full) week templating vBulletin again with our previous custom additions, then learning some of the vB changes, and finally making the new design blend with the forums... but the end result is well worth it.

I will likely polish a thing here and there over time, but for now it's solid enough.

Because of the version bump we also get access to a new list of add-ons that have been coded for these newer versions of the board. So right now I'm in the process of upgrading some of the existent and adding a couple more.

When I receive this:
Quote:
Your Notifications: 1
I do not receive any popup, or email notification
Therefore I continuously need to check for it.
Is that true?

I'm also new to this feature but notifications are not related to PMs but to the new social features... in other words, you should still get PM notifications if you have them enabled. I don't think there is an option for the others.

I love the add-ons and thankfully am familiar with them from some other boards that recently updated. That is correct PM will be just like before but the visitor messages or social group stuff will not notify you. So basically if it's an emergency I guess we should PM you

The only down side the social group is there is no bbcode and the post go upside down - from bottom to top - so it is difficult to have a convo with multiple people.

Good work, HTML errors are down to about twenty in the forums

(edit: viewing a thread brings it to hundreds, depending on the amount of replies)

But I can't seem to stay logged in for more than a few minutes. Is there an inactivity timeout or something? Is that what the "remember me" checkbox is supposed to be?

Yes

Also removing all your cookies will also disable "remember me"

I still find the site takes an irritatingly long time to load, not so bad if returning within a few minutes, but after an hour or two it is long again. Suggest something changes on the opening page (the news ?) every hour or less, which forces a complete refresh of the 'font page', which takes a long time.

Also, having chosen 'Forums' there is again quite a delay before 'my posts' becomes active. During this interval of a few seconds, it is possible to click 'my posts' twice, before it is active and again shortly after, thinking it has not 'noticed'. Unfortunately both clicks are queued with the very unfortunate result that you become locked out for 30 seconds......

Really hope something can be done about thede problems, but I appreciate it is hard on your own.

I am having the same problem

my browser says waiting for a.tribalfusion.com when it hangs - sometimes it is almost instant that I refresh and a page loads the next time it waits for tribalfusion

I'm on a lot, and continuously changing pages and all
Mine loads pretty quick (well better than the old page anyway)
I am not blocking any ads either

So the fault must be in you computer setups
Actually, sometimes when I click "Submit Reply" there's a delay (up to 30 secs) but this is only sometimes.

gbhall and Blind Dragon,
What browsers and OS are you using? I'm definitely going to look into this but the easiest way is for me to be able to replicate what you are experiencing.

Thanks!

It just started doing it again at 7:15pm EST

I took a screenshot so you could see - firefox almost completely loads the page within less than half a second (see blue bar on right side) but it gets hung up on tribalfusion the last sliver of the bar before the page is loaded

I tried using the IE7 rendering engine from within firefox and that didn't work either.

Also I am on 10down/2up dedicated line - I don't share. I download a song in about 15 seconds - which should take longer than a web page

I just made a change with one of our ad providers that should have removed the a.tribalfusion tags to something newer and improved.

The change won't be effective until about 30 more minutes but I would really appreciate if you can provide me with further feedback of whether the problem was solved or not.

Thanks.
