amount of combination of 2 letters is 26*26=676
ok, I reduce it to 26 only: first 7 letter of password is z4y57gm.

Notice that he put 2 dots after the G. Which probably means that the password would be 8 characters. I think I'll just give up. If there's 2 empty characters behind the G, that would mean that I would have to type in 00-99 and if that didn't work, then aa-zz then 0a etc. Id be doing that forever. I tried "Password" and that did not work either. If someone can come up with the password please email me at email removed

Not exactly correct. Have a look at the info below
If you do decide on 3rd party external removal method, make sure to shop around, there are many sharks out there

You can try pressing F12 at the BIOS loading screen and choose what to boot from, ie CD

Hello all again

I purchased a Laptop off the net and was told after it was sent to me ( no refunds ) that the password was lost. I tried to contact Dell but was told that I needed the previous owners info. I contacted the company and was told that since it was a trade in they are not able to find owner info ( to many customer ). I would like to know what I could do to request your help.

yeah the paper clip trick works but why tear apart the case when all you have to do is boot to the DSTCD and reset the service tag through dos, thus resetting all passwords in the bios setup. When I say bios passwords I mean the supervisor and user level passwords, not the HDD password.
