D430 Passwords

Hi I work in It at a school board we have two Dell D430s that have admin passwords on them We had some summer students working with us and looks like they set the admin passwords in the BIOS (speaking with them they indicate they did not) anyways these units were purchased as open-box on the internet and work fine - except we can't get dell support to assist with the password removal (don't know the previous owner name). If anyone could help:

D430s:

service tags: 751HTF-595B and 2P2NTF1-595B

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you do not need the previous owner name to claim the ownership. read through the forums and look for the links kimsland posted. there you will find the appropriate forms and dell will give you the unlock pw with no problems.
btw which password is it? admin password doesn't really say it. do you get the gray/white screen or can't you just change settings inside the bios?

I have unsubscribed from this 3rd party "pay for" thread

jensiskhan many spams, I mean posts! are linked directly to $75 service
I'm sure there are cheaper 3rd party operators around (actually positive)

I also feel that if any member wants to pay for password removal, they should just Google this (there are literally thousands of them!)

There is no need for members wishing to pay for password removal (via 3rd party) to view this thread. There is no point.

This thread was for the discussion and free support for members wanting to know what to do (ie there are free alternatives). It's not meant to be an advertisement ! Otherwise put it in HotDeals forum.

Sorry no grey screen - just the admin password in the bios. We have spoken with Dell and they will absolutely not help us without previous owner info (Not sue if it matters but we are in Canada). We as a school board are a Dell customer (a lot of Dell servers in the system) and they still will not help.

Hi,

i happen to have a used HP omnibook 6100 that i obtained used. It has set a bios password, complete lockup, so not only the settings are locked. It would be a waste, throwing this away. I read here of a method to convert the 5-digit HP code into a password. I'd highly appreciate you sending me the password for the code 02974.

Thanks in advance,

the ape

I already called Dell and they couldn't give me the password because of the ownership transfer was not done.

You can call Dell Tech Support. They can give you a code for your system. You just need to verify the owner's info first before they give you the code.

Sorry, I can't send pms for now because of my few posts... and I don't want to post it in here and look like I'm selling it my self... and of course don't want to get banned... all I can tell you is that I found it at a very well know auctions site... search for "dell, 595B, password" or something like that. Good luck!

REALLY NEED Latitude D520 Password

I have worked on this bastard for the past 20+ hours, and would really appreciate a password for Service Tag #6RCSCC1-595B. I am just about ready to start shorting out every last chip on the motherboard. THANK YOU!
