Thanks Kimsland. I'm going for the ownership option first but if that fails I'll have a bash at the paperclip method. Unfortunately the dst-cd isn't an option for me.

Cheers

DELL Inspiron 5100 = 24LC16B

NOTE: Chip is located at the bottom of board, next to memory Slot B
Peel off the black labels that reads: "SLOT A , SLOT B"

If shorting method does not work, try unsoldering Pin #8 clear off the contact of the board, which eliminates the Passwords

Anyone with one of those dell generators. If you could just verify if the
master password corresponds with the service tag
Model : D620
Service Tag : GQ089C1-595B
M Password : 4vrt3qby
A simple yes or no will do.. and thank you for your time
p.s. giving me the correct one if the above is not correct wont hurt either

i am also trying the ownership transfer option. but understand that it can take a while.
meanwhile, it appears the those with the password generators have made themselves scarse here.
Or could I be wrong?

Thank you!
Can anyone please help me or point me in the right direction? Is there a code generator available? I can't find anything... Does the clip method work on this laptop? If it does, where's it's eeprom? I really need the laptop...
Thank you very much,

Did you try these steps for your HP Compaq NX9005?

1. Remove AC power
2. Remove system battery (primary and Multibay if present)
3. Remove hdd from hdd bay
4. Remove Multibay Devices from Multibay
5. Remove small round battery pill 3.3V, located under a cover on left side of touchpad. Remove cover gently (is no need to remove keyboard, but cover is removable with some power...) Delicately unplug small connector with cables leading to battery,
6. Wait 5 minutes
7. Connect AC power
8. Turn on computer unit (BIOS gets a few errors = date, time, mismatch etc. no need to panic, if everything is ok then get into computer setup pressing F10, change existing setup values as needed, if ok power down computer.
9. Unplug AC power
10. Plug small battery into motherboard
11. Install Hdd and multibay devices
12. Install system batteries
13. Power Up computer.

The shorting method does not work on the D620 Latitude model
Do not attempt on this model.. You will mess up your motherboard.

I can send u a pic for the 610 may help you for paperclip method. There is also a latitude prog to generate the p/w it free and will send if u need it. I have never used it though, but people have had luck with it. Also I have an ISO cd for bios probs called superbios cd look it up and if u think it will help can get it to you. I agree about the holding onto the keygen for 595b but some people r like that.

mike171271, the paperclip method does not work on the D620 models
It WILL, I repeat WILL damage his laptop
bootable cds are useless. If the model goes directly to the gray screen asking for the pasword
The latitude.exe and masterpassword.exe will not work as it does not work with tags ending in 595B

Yes, i have tried that with only the motherboard and LCD panel connected. When i reach step 8, i get the time/date/invalid cmos data errors but when i press F10, it just asks for the password. The difference between what you have psoted and my laptop is that the CMOS battery is directly connected to the motherboard in a slot similar to the desktop boards (only smaller) and is in a different location (i had to disassemble the whole thing to get to it). I can post pictures if you would like.

Thanks for your reply,
Andrei.

Try to leave it unplugged longer... lets give it an hour this time.
With everything unplugged.. press the power button anyways.
And leave without power for an hour
