I bought a bios jumper location from a guy for a satellite last week after speaking to him via emails he told me most Toshiba have a jopen1 location on the two satellites I did they had jumper unders the memory slots jumper was 2 copper squares pad*** written next to them and the other was under the wireless card c88 two solder points. He worked for Toshiba and he was very cool....

I was given a Dell Inspiron from an aquaintance (free) so no details were asked
I am unable to boot up system due to the "authentic password system" I believe this is the password for the Bios. Can anyone tell me how i can get in?

I have a D620 595B locked with an admin password. Trying to locate the eeprom (for shorting) , but no success. Any help will be appreciated.

I have the same problem, it seems that the shorting mode doesn't work with latitude d620.

Correct D620 cannot be shorted
But above post is for Dell Vostro 1700 Laptop

Hi Dear

i have done a lot googling on this topic & found many things related to unlocking like atapwd, Hard Disk Sentinel, HDD Rock from YEC, Ultrec, Vogon, AFF Laboratory, Data track LABS ....... & many more but none of them was free except atapwd but it will format the whole drive tooo so i cant use it to unlock my drive

i also contact HP but they refused to give any solution bcos my 1 year warranty was over .......this made me really depressed that there is no solution & now everybody has become money oriented or where those genuine people has gone who help ordinary people like us with there deep knowledge

then luckily i read your post on the techspot & felt happy that i was wrong & there r still good people who r always open to help

well if i just have write my HP 9010 my Hash code 14190 & asked for master pass you would have given it but why i write this much big story ........ just bcos for those people who r money oriented they should take a lesson and just once feel the feeling when people like us give heartily blessing & respect when our problems r solved .........

I would like to re-state to all New members, that there are FREE alternatives, than paying high costs.

Before deciding to accept any message on how you can pay to receive your passwords:
1. Read this entire thread (you are currently on) On many laptops, the passwords can be freely removed
2. Dell will supply you a password for under $40 only
3. Shop around. There are many pay for services out there, quite a few at eBay, and basically a Google search will find hundreds!

Is it unlocked for ever or do I have to install windows new ?

What exactly do I have to do ?

The master password will allow you to access the system bios so you can remove the bios and boot passwords. The windows installation is not affected. If you have a HDD password set, it needs to be unlocked separately.
