You know the reason, why I don't help on this forum, is because Why ?
Unless all the known members (who I check everyday, usually twice) who ask for payments are banned. If I was allowed to I'd ban them all in a drop of a hat
Maybe I might ask if I can do this...

I figured he was gonna say that... I mean, after all, it's not like anybody expected otherwise, right??

Yes, kim, please find out if banning payment-extracting members can be part of your moderation.

Dell D530 Password

Another day dawns.... and my d530 is useful only as an expensive door stopper. The very familiar:

#9jfdh3j-595b

stares back at me and its pretty pointless even switching it on nowadays. Maybe one day I shall break into a dance once the password is cracked but Im just dreaming right? After reading this forum the rumors of the 24c02 chip and the paper clip method, I gingerly dismantled the thing and reached for my magnifying glass and scoured the heavens and the earth.....nope, the mind boggles and twas all in vain, some people may know my pain. All I know is Im not paying, yet again, on this thing called the dell d530.

If any kind hearted soul can point me in any direction then give me a anything will do, the name of a chip, or a mystical password bender, or even the address for dell then hey just give me a yell!

Other means being another pay for service? If it cant be shorted then can not the chip be replaced? I just need a part number to track down so I can replace the chip... I have a bga rework station at hand so replacing the smd is no problem.

How about a eeprom programmer? Never used one but willing to learn, just not prepared to waste more money on failed so-called services.

Ok I have found someone on ebay who sells the chip for the D530 but refuses to specify the part number. Why the secrecy?

There is no secrecy to these part numbers
I am presently busy, but I'm sure to find this p\n at Google somewhere
As for the eBay member, who knows

actually Dell will tell you anyway

Awww thats just great.

I guess I should put the laptop back together again and carry on using it as a door stopper. What a waste of time. Thanks anyway....

If anyone can decipher this:

#9jfdh3j-595b

already lost out on £30, someone (lowlife) was convinced that there is a 24c02 in my D530 and sent me the chip and wouldnt tell me the chip part number up front until I paid. Wouldnt accept it when I told him there is no 24c02 chip. Then there was the 'buy the master password service' which didnt work at all.

I give up. Joining this forum was a last attempt to find a way to do it myself. Thanks folks and good luck to everyone out there.

Dell Inspiron 1100 jump issue

I have been working on this Inspiron 1100 for about a month now, trying to get past the bios password. I have contacted dell many times with no luck because I do not know the original owner who purchased it 4 years ago. So I find the jumping method where you reset 2 of the pins on the eprom chip or w.e they call it. I have done all that successfuly and now have a hole drilled on the bottom of the laptop for easy access jumping. The problem I'm having now is that your supposed to be able to jump the chip and it erases the service tag, problem solved. But what mine is doing is I jump it and it will work fine untill I power it down. Then the service tag is bag on the laptop and so is the Bios password. Not sure what is causing this, but I also downloaded a cd with ASSET.com and SVCTAG.EXE on it and was told that I could jump the laptop, and then use this cd to reset the service tag so I can go into the bios and change the bios password. I believe I am running the programs correctly because when I boot from cd after jumping the laptop and run asset.com to change the service tag it says completed, but it does not save the new service tag. So now I'm stuck with a laptop that I have to stick a paper clip into everytime I want to turn it on to use it. Could really use some help if anyone has any advice, I know I probably confused some with my explaination.

Does the service tag end in 595B? Need the service tag to give it a try, if it doesn't end in 595B.

Dell wont help as the ownership needs to be transfered from what I understand. Its a bleedin laptop not a house or a car!

I cant find on google any info about the p\n of this eeprom.

I would like to locate the eeprom and use a programmer to see if I can salvage anything before the laptop goes in the bin.

Is this even possible?

Its a dell d530

if anyone knows the location of this eeprom

Or the part number...

and if its programmable or readable...

would help.... or the laptop gets it.

If you can boot from anything, use DST software, if not use shorting procedure
Procedure works fine on inspiron 4000.
