Hello Guys! I canīt belive that the Shorting procedure will work, even that I could do it by myself with a few directions and the firm idea to make it work like the others do. In my case: (Dell Latitude D600) the chipset to find is different to the mentioned in the beginning of this long post. Some say that the chipset is the number 24C02, but in this particular case the chipset to find is the 24C04N (You can find it removing the PCMCIA aluminium case and remove the thin plastic cover that separate them, remember the PCMCIA slot is where you plug-in the wireless card or firewire card , etc) Then, when you find it...remember the model of the chipset! put your computer in the position that you can read perfect the brand and the model of the chipset, and here is where the tough part begin, because you have to make yourself with the famous PAPERRRRR CLIP !!! and try to create an order of numbers for each small legs of the chipset...for example, if you imagine every leg of the chipset from left to right and from up to down the numbers of legs to put in short circuit must be the #3 and the #7, but for some reason I have read that the order is from right to left and from up to down, where the legs to identify to put it in short circuit will be the #2 and the #6. Hope make me understand, letīs continue with the next step: If u create a bridge between this 2 legs and try to power on the notebook you will notice that the unit donīt turn on, but if you separate one of the contacts the systems start to charge, in that moment put again the contact back and see the system turn off again, do this for 1 or 2 times more, remove the paper clip and turn on your laptop and wait to see a message that indicate the system is in factory mode, Now U have your laptop free and ready to be set with the correct parameters to put it back on the road!!! I hope you can understand me, because my mother languague is the Spanish (Im from Costa Rica), In case that you may need some help, just contact me sending a Private Message and Iīll try to do my best to help you!!! Good Bless You All.

Latitude D620 password please
Ok, I bought this laptop at an auction (sierra auction Phoenix, AZ) back on August of this year and everything was working like champ after reinstaling the dell software, well a day after christmas my nephew ask my if he could use the computer and told him yes, this past monday I was going to use the laptop and the gray screen asking for the protection password comes out, I ask my nephew if he did something to it and he said no.
I have contact Dell and without any surprises they didn't want to help me even tough I could prove that this laptop is legally mine, so after spending a bunch of hours already trying to figure what to do I come to the conclusion this Board is my best shot to get my machine back on duty, I rely somewhat heavily on it for my Locksmith bussiness and with this poor economy buying another laptop is not an option for me. Here is the information that comes out on the screen cxt41c1-595b Thanks in advance Last edited by MrDuckz; 01-02-2009 at 04:51 PM.. |

Hello all. I have a Compaq Presario 2175us with a stuck BIOS password. Someone at work though they removed the password, but instead it seems to be changed. HP says this model has a jumper not a Hash even though I hit F12 and get a system hash of 11117
Compaq 2175us Hash: 11117 Any help would be much appreciated. |

Good luck.
Some sites show a photo of the chip, but this is never as easy as they make it seem. But you might want to do some detailed searches on this TechSpot forum. There are perhaps 900 postings regarding Dell password problems. An alternate way is to go to the Dell site, and re-register the computer with you as the owner, with your address, phone, and email address. After 30 business days the computer will be recognized as yours, and you can get help from Dell. If the computer has been reported stolen, this will not work. |
