You know that I was just getting you to post don't you

Thanks for your help so far
And with that, he's gone offline again Oh well

Edit:
Wow keo80, it took 3mins for you to confirm that the password worked
From: hpgl post
Then you viewing it
Then you trying it
Then you confirming all is ok
Then replying to hpgl

It seems really lightening fast, nearly too quick to be true even
I'd even go as far as saying not humanly possible
Oh well hpgl you haven't passed this quarter yet !

I was cheking the forum every 5 sec!!
Finally, internet community is always quicker than a standard hotline (2h spent with HP support hotline... with no result...)

OK, guys, you both know a whole bunch about Dells, which is very impressive. I wish someone knew that much about hps, especially the vt6200, lol. Anyway, I am still trying to come across someone who knows the secret behind mine, but I am very impressed with your vast knowledge of the others.

I hope you tried the attachment I had here at the bottom of this post: http://www.techspot.com/vb/post610782-4.html
I had already replied to you yesterday stating try this as well
Have you tried it yet?

Kimsland, if you are asking me if I tried the attachment, I have. At least all of it that pertained to my hp. I haven't seen any jumpers like the latitudes jboot, and removing the batts and let it drain did nothing either. It still just does the password prompt, although occasionally, it shows the option of F10, but I hit it, and it still went to password. I'm scratchin my head on this one.

I downloaded the oldpass.zip, and it kept coming up currupted

Thanks I confirmed with 3 users that it does unzip !
So therefore you haven't tried it then ?

Which is it ? Tried the generator, or not tried ?

Anyway, you may need to try downloading it on another computer

Here it is again: http://www.techspot.com/vb/post610782-4.html

Edit:

By the way, there are 3 generators in that attachment

And there's also the D35B Dell password generator too in that thread too for any older model Dell computers
Actually that post should be the first point of reading for all Mobile password requests
Thankfully I have confirmed all working, well.

It is just not going to work for me on this computer, I have saved it, tried to open it, and everytime it says file is invalid or currupt. I don't know what the deal is.

And it does seem to be working still. It must be your Zip program

Here's a few Zip programs you can try:

ZipGenius 6.0.3.1150
http://downloads.zipgenius.it/zg603sui.exe
7-Zip
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z457.exe (32-bit)
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z457-x64.msi (x64)
ALZip
http://www.altools.com/image/alzip.exe
Powerarchiver
http://dl.powerarchiver.com/2007/powarc1022.exe
PKZIP
ftp://ftp.pkware.com/PK270WSP.EXE
Winzip
http://www.winzip.com/prod_down.htm
WinRAR
http://rarlab.com/rar/wrar38b5.exe

If it still doesn't work, then I suspect you may have a fault with your Windows or something

Good luck
If it helps at all I used WinRAR to zip it up in Zip format

hello guys, I've also a dell latitude d830 and his bios has been password protected. how can I bypass that? Is it possible to "shortcut" his bios chip with the paperclip method? or do I need a masterpassword via it's servicetag number?

I also put a ReadMe.txt file in there as well, to avoid these questions
If you do not know how to copy and paste and how to run a DOS command you may need help from anyone there who can help. ie These basic Windows functions I won't discuss

But at least we have learned that you haven't actually tried any of the 3 generators yet. In that Zip file

well, I go to the command prompt, or even run, and it will come up for a split second, and then it's gone. except for the unlock 6, but it ask which scan I want to run. I'm not sure where to go from there. I am not trying your patience, I am just not familiar to password retrieval. Please bare with me.

I'm sorry the commands are just too basic for me to explain
You must be very limited in computer knowledge. Just follow the ReadMe.txt file
If you have trouble, as I stated, then you may need to learn basic Windows commands including Start->Run-> CMD and the other info supplied in the text document:

Type in-> hdd_pw 12345 0 (where 12345 is actually the password error code)
Then Press 2 (Upper Case ASCII Code) (you will see this)

This area of Windows and how to use and understand it, is beyond (or below rather) the reason for this thread. Maybe go ask any teenager to help, it's very basic

Edit

I'm nearly positive that you will say "it" did not work
Well the 3 Generators give about 10 to 15 passwords to try, but as I said no doubt none will work for you !
Anyway, thankfully seeming there was no where else to get all 3 from the web that I could presently find, at least they exist here at TechSpot. Pretty sure a lot of members will be reading that thread (ie H E R E) So that's good at least As others have already stated that the options in that thread have helped them TechSpot forums, are free help only

I do apologize for sounding as if I am clueless, but that is because I do not have an Error code, or hash code. If I can find that, I can further my search. I am not asking for the password just yet, this is the first laptop I have come across that doesn't shoot a hash at you. That was my problem. I think I could rub the 2 brain cells I've been living on together and figure it out from there, I am not an *****. I am sorry to have given that impression.
