Graphics card

Hey

Ive just got some money finally to spend on a new PC and I'm going to build one because Ive had problems with ready made PC's.

I'm trying to base it all on Medal of Honor Airborne because it looks good. Here are the specs for the Graphics card:
Video: DirectX 9.0c, NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT, ATI Radeon
X1300 Pro, or better with Shader 3.0 support for Windows XP or
Vista (Note: NVIDIA 6800XT, 6800LE, 7100GS, 7200GS, 7200LE,
7300GS, 7300GT cards not supported). NOTE: NVIDIA SLI and ATI Crossfire modes are not supported
in Medal of Honor Airborne Demo

I'm trying to figure out what card to get that will be compatible. I think I'm going to go up the the Nvidia 8000 series will this run? also does anyone have the games that run well with their card?
I haven't got loads about £40 for the GC so i need a good deal
Ive narrowed it down to these so any helps would be great

Thanks

The 8600 would be the best choice. Make sure you have enough power and an PCI-E slot available though.

I'd recommend a good 400-450W PSU. Something like the Antec EA430 or the Corsair 450VX will do fine. Also, I recommend getting a cheaper dual-core CPU and getting a faster video card with the leftover cash. You'd get much better gaming performance that way.

Try getting an 8800GT or a 9600GT. Both are about equal in performance.

The 9600GT takes a lot less power but churns out almost as many frames as an 8800GT (usually 1 or 2 frames lower) but at around $20-$30 less. And it doesn't take much Amperage or wattage.

Yeah, they're about the same but the 8800GT gives higher performance in shader-heavy games like World in Conflict and upcoming games will continue the trend. That is why IMO it is the better buy.
