BSOD please help, minidumps attached

If any kind person has a clue how I can prevent these constant blue screens I would be really grateful.

I have followed all the directions in the "read this before posting minidumps" thread and found no errors, but not too sure how to interpret the Everest results regarding overheating.

I have also updated my graphics card drivers and sound card drivers, recently done windows update that included SP3. No new hardware added.

Anyone able to tell me what is causing the problem? Running XP pro.

Many thanks.

Thanks for they reply, I will find the latest update for cubase.

I run CCleaner at least once a week, have done it again. Also requested the hotfix for the ks.sys.

Since posting I have had 2 more blue screens, minidumps attached. Were these caused by the same problems?

Thanks for your help.

The hotfix for ks.sys says I have a newer service pack than it will work for.

When you say have I updated all the drivers which ones do you mean?

Thanks.

Well notiably Sound

I would uninstall all drivers for your sound card
Then locate ks.sys and rename it to ks.old
Then confirm the driver download, and download and install it.

Now I'm ashamed to say this, so far into the thread, but what computer are we talking about?

Please put your System Specs information in your Profile

If you have a brand name computer (like Dell; HP; or other) please place the Computer name & Model number in your Mobo field of your Profile

Please press the GO button, to update all your drivers

Some Service Pack (SP) will pop out a warning message in your default browser, under the address bar
Click on the message "Install ActiveX Control" to continue the installation.

Thanks for the info, I will update the sound card drivers again now.

Regarding the ks.sys, how to I locate the file to rename? When i search the computer for files named ks.sys I get 6 different files with the same name in different locations, most of them in C:\WINDOWS.

Here is my computer spec:

Windows XP Pro (SP3)
2 x Intel Xeon, 3200 Mhz
ASUS NCCH-DL Motherboard
Intel Canterwood i875P Chipset
Award (08/29/05) BIOS
4GB RAM (DDR SDRAM)
ATI Radeon 9600 Video Card (2 outputs)
M-Audio 1010LT Soundcard

Shall I attach the report summary from EVEREST?

No need to attach the report

Regarding ks.sys, presently leave alone, until last option (usually found C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers)

Please continue with the updating of drivers ("Go" button in my last post above)

So I have updated my sound card drivers, I noticed one of the files replaced was the ks.sys.

How do I now install the BIOS update? I have downloaded the lastest verison from the ASUS site but I cant find any instructions relating to my model motherboard on the the site.

NCCHDL1006-002.BIN Do I burn this to CD?

Many thanks for you help.

Have the blue screens now gone?

In relation to the Bios update. Normally I would not recommend this. Many users have incorrectly tried to update their Bios rom, and stopped the Motherboard ever working again. i.e. This area is critical

No blue sceens for over 24 hours now. Think I will see how it goes for the next few days before attempting a BIOS update.

Can't thank you enough for your help!
